A fabulous choice for families, the Thalassa Village Skanes combines a fine beachfront location with a wealth of facilities and activities. First off, there are the pools: two outdoor and one indoors, plenty of loungers on the sun terraces, a kids’ pool and a poolside snack bar. In addition, there’s a tennis court, minigolf, table tennis and a gym with a sauna and a Jacuzzi. Down at the beach, there’s another snack bar and a range of non-motorised water sports.

Dining at the Thalassa Village comes courtesy of the rather elegant Restaurant Corail, where you will delight in extravagant buffets with a choice of table inside or al fresco. There are also four bars on site – ideal for that relaxed aperitif or after dinner drink. The accommodation is spread throughout the palm-studded gardens; the rooms are large and comfortable with extra seating areas and air conditioning. The hotel is just seven kilometres from Monastir and 11 kilometres from Sousse, on Tunisia’s Gulf of Hammamet, so there’s plenty to see and do in the local area.
