The Diani Sea Resort on Diani Beach in Kenya will certainly appeal to adventurous types. The soft, white sand beaches of Diani are some of the best in Mombasa, the Indian Ocean beyond is perfect for diving, and the hotel makes an excellent base for some serious safaris. Activities at the hotel are plentiful, with everything from volleyball and tennis, to minigolf, giant chess and darts available to guests. There is also an 18-hole golf course nearby which offers a discount to anyone staying at the resort.

Rooms at the Diani Sea Resort are chic and modern and each comes equipped with essentials like a mosquito net, air conditioning and a private terrace, as well as little touches like flowers on arrival. Within the grounds there is a large, free form swimming pool and sun terrace, and lawns that overlook the ocean, where you can stretch out on a sun lounger with a book and your favourite cocktail. There is a dress code for both the buffet and the à la carte restaurant and men must wear long trousers for dinner.
