Right by a gorgeous lake, the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort, Walt Disney World is a serene oasis in the centre of Orlando. The rooftops are highlighted with huge swans and dolphins, and the hotel has a lake fringed by a sandy beach. There are five large swimming pools, with waterfalls, grottos and fountains, to choose from.

The accommodation comes in the shape of bedrooms which are smart and roomy, and come with high-speed internet and widescreen TVs. You’ll find a big choice of restaurants here, too. We recommend the Garden Grove, where the tables are set under a 25-foot oak tree and Disney characters join you while you eat. This hotel is situated inside Walt Disney World, with walkways or water taxis to take you to nearby Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Plus, regular shuttle buses run to all the other Disney attractions – so getting out and about couldn’t be easier.
